Rapid City Arts Council’s Definition of Mountain Culture
Mountain culture is a lifestyle. It is the ideas, values and beliefs that are shared by people thriving in a robust environment, in or near mountainous terrain, i.e, the Black Hills of South Dakota. Your Photography submissions for this show should reflect mountain lifestyle. The Badlands will be acceptable terrain in this exhibition.

We encourage you to be creative in your approach. Suggestions include alternative processes, abstract, macro or non-conventional images and viewpoints. Some examples of acceptable subject matter are outdoor adventure, mountain landscape, wildlife, people and sports.
