Home in Focus is a community photography show and competition centered around South Dakota as home. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to submit for this exhibition that celebrates the beauty, stories, and spirit of this region and their sense of home.
Photographers are invited to submit their work in three distinct categories: Youth (18 and under), Adult Amateur/Hobbyist (over 18), and Adult Experienced/Professional (over 18). Prizes for each category are as follows:

RCAC is inviting South Dakota artists to submit proposals for two large-scale outdoor murals as part of Rapid City’s Downtown Beautification Project. This public art initiative seeks to transform Rapid City through murals that reflect the region’s natural beauty and community spirit.
The murals will be installed on an exterior wall located in downtown Rapid City. The theme for these murals will be nature-themed, specifically focusing on the natural surroundings of the Black Hills. The artist will be responsible for all wall preparation, paint, and materials. The artist will receive payments for these murals in two installments. The first installment of 30% will be awarded to the artist upon selection and signing of a contract. This will help cover the initial material costs. Final payment will be issued to the artist upon project completion. The artists will be notified of selection no later than March 27, 2026, and first payments will be available on April 3, 2026. |
The Best of the West exhibition offers an opportunity for high school students to submit their 2D and 3D artworks for display at the Dahl Arts Center. Awards are presented to recognize outstanding work, fostering a competitive and professional experience for young artists.
