Graphite Week
September 9-13
Students will have a fun and exciting time learning about the different kinds of graphite pencils and how to use them in their drawings. They will get to draw their very own monster and make it come to life by shading and adding details with different types of graphite. At the end of the class, each student will earn a special Skill Builder badge for Graphite to celebrate their hard work and creativity.

Pens & Markers Week
September 16-20
Young artists will learn to use pens and markers to create texture, value, and layering. They will learn how to use hatching and cross-hatching. This will be the first look at color and how to use this in artwork. Students will create artwork using warm and cool colors in a self-portrait, earning them a Pens & Markers Skill Badge!

Colored Pencils Week
September 23-27
In this fun and colorful class, young artists will use colored pencils to create beautiful nature-inspired artwork. We'll start with a neutral background, like white or light gray paper, and learn how to blend colors to make our pictures look bright and lively. Students will discover how to make colors flow smoothly together and create even patches of color. This project will be an excellent way for our youngest artists to explore their creativity and learn about nature through art!

Introduction to Handbuilding
This class is perfect for all people of all abilities who want to explore hand-building pottery! With a special focus on modifying any technique so that you can do it, you’ll learn the basics of slab building, coil building, basic sculpture, and 3D design principles. |
Introduction to Wheel Throwing
These classes are designed for students who have minimal to no experience on the wheel, but is also valuable for those looking to brush up on their skills. Students will be guided through understanding stages of clay, clay preparation, centering clay, pulling shapes in clay, joining clay bodies, basic surface decoration and brush glazing. Registration includes the first 20lbs of clay as well as all tools, glazes, and firing- this is everything you will need to get started in your ceramics adventure! |
Raku Firing
Saturday, September 28 9am-3pm This event is open to everyone. Please bring your prepared raku pottery to be fired between the hours of 9 and 3. In addition to your pottery please bring combustible materials like sawdust and other dried materials. |
