Guided Tours

Enhance your visit to the Dahl Arts Center with a guided gallery tour. Our tour guides are trained to facilitate conversations and make viewing art fun! The Rapid City Arts Council strives to provide innovative, inspiring, thought-provoking contemporary exhibitions by local, regional, and national artists that reflect a diversity of perspectives. Through our exhibits, we engage the public in a dialogue about issues and ideas that encourage learning and understanding.

Two week advance notice is strongly encouraged (galleries and/or tour guide may not be available without advance notice).

Adult Tours
Renew mind and spirit as you are guided through four rotating galleries and the historical Cyclorama Mural of American Economic History.

Student Tours
Interactive discussions engage fresh young minds. Tour guides work with students to explore bold new ways of using art as a tool to build bridges, articulate experiences, struggles, and aspirations while inspiring them to consider their role in the community and greater society.

Children's Tours
Scavenger hunts, exploration games, and hands-on activities keep children engaged with the artwork in the galleries. Tour themes vary with rotating exhibits and can be catered to match specific classroom subjects.

$2 (+tax) per person per hour

Add an Art Activity!
Kids love making and learning through art! Let us help you meet state standards with hands-on projects that include the elements and principles of art and lessons in art history.

Projects reflect the artistic processes and style of the art exhibit toured. Look, discuss, create a well-rounded learning experience.

$2 (+tax) per participant for a half hour art project

RCAC creates and supports diverse programming in exhibitions, performances, and educational classes. Supported by individual donors and organizations such as the Black Hills Area Community Foundation, John T.
