Intro to Wheel Throwing
Starting August 4

Come play in the mud and learn the skills needed to successfully throw a pot on the wheel! This class is designed for students who have minimal to no experience on the wheel, but is also valuable for those looking to brush up on their skills. Students will be guided through understanding stages of clay, clay preparation, centering clay, pulling shapes in clay, joining clay bodies, basic surface decoration and brush glazing. Registration includes the first 20lbs of clay as well as all tools, glazes, and firing- this is everything you will need to get started in your ceramics adventure!

Registration also includes a 1 month pass to Open Pottery Studio where students can practice and learn from other potters. Students will need to follow all posted OPS rules and procedures and need to sign in when they use the studio.

You Could Win this Signed Salvador Dalí Lithograph!

The Rapid City Arts Council is pleased to announce an exciting fundraising raffle featuring El Caballero (The Horseman), #90/125, a limited-edition lithograph created in 1968 by renowned surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. The raffle offers community members a rare opportunity to own an important piece of 20th-century art while supporting our local arts scene.
