Pat Roseland is a local art collector who began collecting art and all else sometime during the 1980s. He generously shared part of his collection with the Dahl Arts Center in 2005 so that some of his works could be seen by others. This follow up exhibition will center on local landscapes and cityscapes.

ARTICLES OF A TREATY | VARIOUS ARTISTS

ADELSTEIN GALLERY
01.15.21 - 04.10.21

Articles of a Treaty is an exhibition centered on the seventeen articles of the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty. Each article is interpreted by one or two artists. This exhibition is organized and curated by Craig Howe, PHD of the Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies (CAIRNS). In addition, each of the articles also contains a song and a poem.

FOUNDATIONS | GABRIELLE REEVES

SHAVER GALLERY
11.20.20 - 03.06.21

Gabrielle is an American visual artist who has been living and working in Istanbul, Turkey for the past several years. She is originally from Wyoming and has exhibited her drawings and paintings in exhibitions in both countries.

This series of paintings, ink drawings and collages depicts a stratified and surreal portrayal of Istanbul; an organism of a city continually evolving and building on top of its old self. As an artist, Gabrielle is fascinated with ruin and renewal as well as the collapsing and rebuilding of this ancient, dense and layered landscape.

On behalf of the Rapid City Arts Council, the Dahl staff, Board of Directors, and our volunteers, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and thank the City of Rapid City for their ongoing support of our organization. It is because of support like this that we are able to continue to fulfill our mission to champion inclusive, innovative and inspired arts opportunities to enrich the communities we serve.

The Rapid City Arts Council receives support from generous members and donors, the City of Rapid City,  SD Community Foundation, and the South Dakota Arts Council with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts. Special thanks to Bierschbach Equipment and Supply and Dakota Business Center, Carter Taylor.

The Dahl Arts Center is a municipal facility managed by the Rapid City Arts Council and owned by the City of Rapid City.
