Rapid City’s Unique Women’s Fundraiser Tournament returns in 2009!  If you like to help children learn, provide life-building opportunities for young people and adults, or fund meaningful programs for people with disabilities, then come on out and have fun and play for a cause! All proceeds benefit arts programs at the Dahl Arts Center.

Golfers at the Dahl Women’s Golf Tournament have a great time and impact the community in positive and meaningful ways.

With your help, The Rapid City Arts Council at the Dahl raises funds that provide scholarships and financial assistance for children who could not otherwise attended arts classes or camps.

Monies raised help fund regular classes for artists with disabilities. These classes are a necessary creative outlet for people receiving services for adults with disabilities. The classes are taught by a woman with disabilities who always donates an art piece to the golf raffle.

Funds raised at the golf tourney keep prices of camps and classes affordable. Money is used to help offset the cost of teacher’s salaries and employ local artists. Hiring trained art teachers improves the quality of the classes and camps. Children from Cornerstone to Carriage Hills have taken our classes and camps.

Programs that serve foster children reached out to the Arts Council during the last 12 months asking for help. Children in challenging circumstances come to our camps. They perform and sing and get a chance to take a break from being a “child in the system.” The children draw or paint a brighter future. They just get to be a silly, regular kid. C

Each time you golf in the tourney, invite a friend to golf or buy an extra raffle ticket, you are positively impacting kids in our community. Summer kid’s camps offer performance and visual arts curriculum at every camp. Children get to perform and exhibit their art at the end of the camp. We invite daycares, church kid’s camps, and the YMCA kids to come on over for a free show by camp participants.

Teen camp assistants volunteer to help with the camps every year. This early volunteer experience helps lots of kids stay on the path of community service and giving back, while having fun. When you donate through golf to the Dahl, we can present children’s art camps and give teens an opportunity to explore confidence in leading children through a learning experience.

You make Rapid City a better place through the Dahl Women’s Golf Tournament. Together, we bring people and art together to strengthen community.
