The Arts Community Needs YOU!

Memberships, Teaching Opportunities, Docent Program, Volunteering, Donations Wish List...

The Dahl Arts Center needs community members like you to help promote the arts.  Here is a sample of the wide range of activities for you to participate in:

Membership
Membership to the Dahl Arts Center can be done at a variety of participation levels.   Ten Good Reasons to become a member of the Dahl:

  1. Invitations to Dahl artists receptions and events

  2. Opportunity to volunteer on events and committees

  3. Printed quarterly newsletters and special announcements sent to your home

  4. Week-end update for upcoming happenings send to members by email

  7.  Reduced rates for performances, events and art classes

Teaching
The Dahl offers many different types of art classes and musical performances for all age levels.  If you have a background in art or music and are interested in sharing your knowledge with the public, please contact education@thedahl.org with experience and areas of interest, or bring a resume to the Dahl at 713 Seventh Street in Rapid City.

Docent Program
If you are enthusiastic about the arts and enjoy being with people volunteers are needed to lead tours of students, tour groups, and the general public through gallery exhibits.

Docents are trained on how to talk about art within in community, and learn in depth about each exhibit, its interpretation, and what it offers to the public. Benefits of being a Docent include:

         · Learn more about interpreting and looking at art

Other Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to the Docent Program, the Dahl needs a variety of volunteers in other areas.  Such opportunities include:

        · Donate craftsman or artistic talent
        · Office Help

Maybe right now you don't have the time in your busy schedule to help out in person...but maybe you have something in your garage or attic that we could use here at the Dahl!  Check out our ever-changing Wish List below of things that you can donate to the Dahl and give us a call if you can help us out.
