Family Fun at the Dahl... Don't miss our Free SATURDAY ART ADVENTURES! (Every first Saturday of the month, 10am to noon). These events are free to the public and no registration necessary. The first Saturday of every month at the Dahl Arts Center will be a new adventure in art! Free family oriented art activities, performances, demonstrations and guided tours of the galleries will give your weekend a jump start and satisfy your creative needs. Play the Dahl Detectives game, earn your badge and claim your prize. Each month offers a new variety of activities and entertainment on a theme (see below) 2008 Saturday Art Adventure Days... Jan 5 - Catch the Sun: Celebrate the New Year and our Glassified exhibit with translucent sun catcher art & sing along live guitar music with Paul Peterson. Feb 2 Home on the Range: The rodeo is in town! Explore the Rancher photo exhibit by Carl Corey, take home leather tooling craft and live western music. Mar 1 Green and Gold: The artistic talent of our local middle-schoolers is on display. Celtic music and Celtic Irish art will bring you good luck. April 5 Knights, Castles & Dragons: Science fiction artwork by Darrell Sweet is in the gallery. Develop your dragon drawing skills and learn about sword fighting. May 3 - Spring Fling: Spring is in the air! Flowers bloom with sunny skies. Paint a pot and plant a seed. Join us for the celebration with balloon art and gardening! June 7 - Book It: Book arts on exhibit will inspire your own creative book making. Your original ideas will create a story in this morning of book binding, paper crafts and cover decoration. Live original story tellers. July 5 - Splattacular! Splatter art...is it art or is it just plain fun? Answerboth! Splatter art painting is exciting and spontaneous. You never know what will develop as colors drip and spray. This summer fun day includes face painting and sidewalk chalk. Aug 2 - Third Planet: Honor the Earth exhibit hopes to create awareness and support for Native environmental issues. We'll do our part with eco-friendly arts. Mix your own egg tempera paint and make a sculpture from recyclables.
