Family Fun at the Dahl...

Don't miss our Free SATURDAY ART ADVENTURES!

Every first Saturday of the month, 1-3pm

These events are free to the public and no registration necessary. The first Saturday of every month at the Dahl Arts Center will be a new adventure in art! Free family oriented art activities, performances, demonstrations and guided tours of the galleries will give your weekend a jump start and satisfy your creative needs. Each month offers a new variety of activities and entertainment on a theme (see below)

2009 Saturday Art Adventure Days...

NEW HOURS: 1-3pm

June 6 - Homestead Dakota - Saturday Art Adventures We'll showcase our historical cyclorama mural with an accent on South Dakota homesteaders. What crafts, games and art did early settlers enjoy? Join us for old fashioned fun with a log cabin craft and rag braided cozies.

July 11 - Double Dabble - (NOTE! Revised Date due to the Holiday!) Life inspires beautiful images and words. Explore the art and poetry in the Images of Place exhibit and be inspired to paint and write. Paint landscapes on canvas and play magnetic word games to compose poetry on paper for a double adventure in the arts.

Aug 1 - Collection Connection - The Ray Graham Collection exhibit gives insight to why people collect the things they do. What objects do we find valuable and why? Piece together this mystery with assemblage and collage. We'll cut, glue and put things we like together to create an "all about me" work of art.

Saturday Art Adventure Days are Free due to the support of Citi, Modern Woodmen, Morgan Stanley Foundation through Dan Rasby, and Target Foundation. It is also made possible with the financial support of additional funding from the City of Rapid City, Allied Arts Fund and the Gwendolyn Stearns Foundation.
